Strategies for development

In the past, I have successfully used a couple of strategies for development. I have used argument and I have also used compare and contrast.
When I was a senior in high school, one of my assignments was to write an argumentative essay. I chose to write mine about abortion. In my paper I wrote about my beliefs on abortion and why I feel the way that I do. I also wrote a paragraph on why people might believe in the opposite of what I do. For both sides of the argument I researched some things online and added them into my paper. I have also written an argumentative essay about whether or not the drinking age should be lowered from 21 to 18. I argued that it should not be lowered and gave my reasoning for why I think that. I think argumentative essays can be fun to write as long as it is about something I strongly agree with.
I have also written a compare and contrast essay while in high school. I had to compare and contrast two characters in a book I read in English class. I remember I compared and contrasted the way they looked and the things that they did. I can’t remember what else I compared/contrasted about them because it was quite some time ago that I wrote the paper.
