Comparing Mr. Escalante and Mr. Macfarland

There are many, many teachers in this world. Not all of them are the same because some have different teaching styles, some have more knowledge on the subject they teach, and some seem to show that they actually care about their students' education. I think Mr. Escalante and Mr. Macfarland are similar teachers. Both of these teachers seem to actually care about their students education and believes in their students. For instance, Mr. Escalante believed his students could pass the AP calculus exam and he fought to get them the second chance to retake it. He also went to talk to one of his students' parents to talk to them about letting her continue going to school because he believed she was a smart girl and could go off to college after high school. Mr. Macfarland believed in Mike Rose. He knew Rose was smart enough to get into college even when Rose didn't think he'd be able to. Mr. Macfarland encouraged Rose and helped him get into college. Another way these teachers are similar is they would both quiz their students and actually give them a lot of work to do. I think it's great when a teacher believes in you and encourages you. I've had a math teacher in high school who believed I was able to pass my math classes and even the state test. I liked that even when I wasn't in her class anymore she would still check up on how I was doing in my new math classes the following years. I knew I was able to go to her if I ever needed help with math and that's a great feeling to have.
